Matte Anti Glare Prepainted Galvanized Steel Coil for Wall Panels
Large wall panels in a gloss finish create two problems on a real building: they mirror the sky and surrounding structures, and any waviness in the panel becomes visible as a moving reflection. A matte anti glare top coat solves both. This prepainted galvanized coil is finished at 8 to 15 gloss units instead of the usual 30 to 40, which flattens reflections and lets the panel read as a single surface even when the substrate is not perfectly flat.
Matte coatings are harder to keep clean in some environments because the micro textured surface holds dust, so we recommend them only where appearance matters more than self cleaning, such as architectural facades and interior wall systems.

Benefits on Facades
- Reflections are suppressed, so panel waviness does not become a visual defect.
- Uniform matte surface hides minor scratches that appear during installation.
- Lower glare improves comfort for occupants in neighbouring buildings.
- Consistent gloss measured per batch, not judged by eye on site.
- Works with cassette, sandwich and interlocking panel systems.
Where Matte Wins
- Architectural facade panels on commercial buildings
- Showroom and retail exteriors where glare is a design concern
- Interior partition and ceiling panels
- Residential wall systems with large uninterrupted surfaces
Questions from Panel Makers
Does matte coating form as well as gloss?
Yes at normal panel radii. Matte surfaces use a silica or polymer matting agent that slightly reduces elongation, so for very tight returns we recommend confirming the radius and using a softer primer.
Will it show fingerprints?
Less than gloss, more than a textured or embossed finish. Handling gloves are still recommended during installation on dark shades.
Can matte be applied over any RAL color?
Any shade can be converted, but very dark matte colors tend to show dust more readily. On industrial sites we usually recommend a mid tone instead.
How is gloss verified?
We measure with a 60 degree gloss meter at three positions across the coil width and record the values on the inspection sheet that ships with the coil.
Ordering and Sampling
Because matte finishes are judged on site under real light rather than in a catalogue, we send a physical A4 sample of the exact gloss target before bulk production. The sample carries the batch reference so the panel line can compare incoming coils against the approved piece. For multi building projects we hold the coating batch record for two years, which allows a later extension to be matched against the original run instead of an approximation.
Lead time is normally fifteen to twenty five days after deposit for standard shades, and longer for a first time matte conversion because the line needs a dedicated cleaning cycle between gloss and matte products.
Coating thickness matters more than coating brand in service: Top 20 - 25 micron, primer 5 micron. Below roughly 20 micron total build, UV exposure in strong sun starts to chalk the surface within a few years, and the colour drifts before the steel itself shows any problem.
Formability is specified as T bend 2T, matte film no whitening. This determines whether the strip can be roll formed and folded at the job site without cracking the coating over the bend radius, which is the most common cause of premature coating failure on roofing panels.

On this specification the coating build is Top 20 - 25 micron, primer 5 micron and the expected service life is 15 - 20 years for vertical facade exposure. Durability figures assume the material is installed and maintained within the environment class stated.
Yes. On this specification the substrate is Galvanized steel Z180 - Z275 and bending performance is T bend 2T, matte film no whitening, which covers normal profiling and standing seam forming.
ISO 9001, EN 10169, RoHS. Mill certificates and third party test reports can be issued with the shipment.
5 metric tons. Smaller trial runs are quoted separately because coating line setup cost per ton rises sharply below that volume.
