How do you store a color recipe for repeat orders?

We record pigment formulation, film build, oven profile and the measured dE against the RAL reference. When a repeat order arrives we reproduce from that record and compare the new batch against a retained sample panel.

What is the realistic color tolerance?

dE 1.0 is the standard commitment and is invisible to most observers. For very light neutrals we can tighten to dE 0.7 with a dedicated run, which costs more because the line runs slower.

Can you coat both sides in different colors?

Yes, the line has two coating heads. Two tone coils are common for panels where the reverse face is visible from below or through a gap.

Every shipment includes an inspection sheet with gloss, film thickness and dE readings taken at three positions across the width.

Packing and Documentation

Coils ship eye to sky with PVC film, paper interleaving and steel strapping on wooden pallets. Labels carry heat number, coating batch and measured film thickness, and the retained sample panel from each run is kept for two years so a later complaint can be checked against the actual material rather than a memory of it.

Coating thickness matters more than coating brand in service: Top 20 - 25 micron, primer 5 micron. Below roughly 20 micron total build, UV exposure in strong sun starts to chalk the surface within a few years, and the colour drifts before the steel itself shows any problem.

Formability is specified as T bend 2T without cracking. This determines whether the strip can be roll formed and folded at the job site without cracking the coating over the bend radius, which is the most common cause of premature coating failure on roofing panels.
