Roof cladding is the harshest position on any building: full sun, thermal cycling, rain washing and airborne dust all attack the same surface. This prepainted galvanized steel coil is built around that reality. The top coat uses a resin and pigment combination chosen to resist chalking, the whitish bloom that appears when a coating binder breaks down under ultraviolet light, and the color is matched inside the RAL color system so architects can specify a shade and receive what they drew.

Color matching runs against a spectrophotometer rather than a paper swatch. Each production batch is measured at three points across the coil width, and the dE value is recorded on the mill certificate so a second shipment can be compared with the first without guesswork.

Can you match a specific RAL code from our architect?

Yes. Send the RAL number and we return a measured dE report against your reference. Metallic and pearl shades in the RAL range need an extra confirmation step because they read differently under direct sun and shade.

Which end of the roof needs the thicker coating?

The ridge and the sun facing slope weather fastest in most climates. Some clients specify a heavier film build for the sun facing panels; we can split one order into two film build groups without changing the base color.

How does anti chalking differ from UV resistance?

They work together. UV resistance protects the resin from breaking down; anti chalking keeps the surface from turning white once that breakdown would otherwise begin. A coil with only UV stabilizer can still chalk, so the pigment and resin are chosen as a pair here.

What is the recommended installation temperature?

Roll forming and fixing are best between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius. Below 5 degrees the coating becomes stiff and is more likely to crack at tight bends, so panels formed from cold coils should be allowed to reach ambient temperature first.

Coating thickness matters more than coating brand in service: 28 - 35 micron total build. Below roughly 20 micron total build, UV exposure in strong sun starts to chalk the surface within a few years, and the colour drifts before the steel itself shows any problem.

Formability is specified as T bend 2T and 9 J reverse impact. This determines whether the strip can be roll formed and folded at the job site without cracking the coating over the bend radius, which is the most common cause of premature coating failure on roofing panels.
