25 Micron RAL 9006 Color Coated Steel Coil for Wall Panel Systems
RAL 9006 white aluminium is the shade most often specified for modern wall panel systems because it reads as a light metallic white without the harshness of pure white. Producing that look requires the pigment to be dispersed evenly, otherwise the panel shows streaks under raking light. This coil is coated at a 25 micron top film build, which is the practical sweet spot for wall panels: thick enough to hide substrate texture, thin enough to form cleanly on a roll former without cracking at the ribs.
The coating line runs two stage cleaning and a conversion coating before the primer, so adhesion is consistent across the full coil width rather than just at the middle.

Benefits for Wall Panel Production
- Even pigment dispersion avoids visible streaking on large flat panels.
- 25 micron film build forms cleanly at panel ribs and returns.
- Controlled gloss prevents the mirror like reflection that makes facade panels look uneven.
- 2H pencil hardness resists scuffing during transport and installation.
- MEK resistance confirms the coating is fully cured, not just surface dry.
Application Areas
- Insulated sandwich panel face sheets
- Facade cassette and cassette infill panels
- Clean room and cold store wall systems
- Interior partition panels for commercial buildings
Questions Buyers Ask
Why 25 micron instead of a heavier coat?
Wall panels need forming more than abrasion resistance. Above roughly 30 micron the film can crack at sharp returns on a roll former unless the primer is softened, so 25 micron gives a better balance of appearance and formability for panel work.
Is RAL 9006 a metallic color?
RAL 9006 is described as white aluminium and has a slight metallic character. We match it with aluminium effect pigment at low loading so the surface reads uniform rather than sparkled, and we supply a physical sample before bulk production.
Can the back coat differ from the standard grey?
Yes. For sandwich panels the back side is often specified in a lighter or matched shade. Tell us the back side requirement when ordering and we set the back coat unit accordingly.
What is the minimum order?
Five metric tons for standard shades and gauges, with a higher minimum for special colors because the line needs a dedicated coating run and a full cleaning cycle between shades.
Packing and Handling
Coils ship eye to sky with a removable PVC protective film, paper interleaving between wraps and steel strapping on a wooden pallet. For long sea transit we switch to a UV resistant film grade so the outer wrap does not degrade in the container. Each coil carries a label with heat number, coating batch and measured film thickness, which lets the panel line trace any forming problem back to a specific coil without opening the whole consignment.
Coating thickness matters more than coating brand in service: Top 25 micron, back 7 micron. Below roughly 20 micron total build, UV exposure in strong sun starts to chalk the surface within a few years, and the colour drifts before the steel itself shows any problem.
Formability is specified as T bend 2T on 0.5 mm gauge. This determines whether the strip can be roll formed and folded at the job site without cracking the coating over the bend radius, which is the most common cause of premature coating failure on roofing panels.

On this specification the coating build is Top 25 micron, back 7 micron and the expected service life is 15 - 20 years for vertical wall exposure. Durability figures assume the material is installed and maintained within the environment class stated.
Yes. On this specification the substrate is Galvanized steel Z180 or Z275 and bending performance is T bend 2T on 0.5 mm gauge, which covers normal profiling and standing seam forming.
ISO 9001, EN 10169, RoHS. Mill certificates and third party test reports can be issued with the shipment.
5 metric tons. Smaller trial runs are quoted separately because coating line setup cost per ton rises sharply below that volume.
